Hailing from Seattle Washington, Rajnii Eddins has been performing poetry and engaging diverse audiences for more than 20 years. First, as the youngest member of the African American Writers Alliance at 11 years old, then, as a polished youth performer at the Seattle Center, in bookshops, cafes, festivals, colleges and galleries. He was chosen as the first youth poet to read original works to the Seattle City Council at 17 and represented Seattle in the National Poetry Slam in '04 and '05. At 18 years of age, he published a book of poetry entitled, A Taste of RAGE, and also wrote/performed a major role in the play Uncle Tom Deconstructed at Seattle Central Community College. In addition, Rajnii created and facilitated a curriculum utilizing Hip Hop/Spoken Word to support educators in engaging disaffected youth for the Black Child Development Institute Conference, and currently serves as Founder and Executive Director for The Poetry Experience which (started in Seattle in 1998) is now hosted at the Fletcher Free Library. He is also a member of local Hip-hop powerhouse, Bless the Child. Visit their Bandcamp page -
