Hartland Community Arts and the Hartland Public Library present National Poem in Your Pocket Day: A Sense of Place and Connections. This event will take place at the Hartland Public Library and will include:

  • A visit from Vermont Poet Laureate Chard deNiord
  • A visit from Dede Cummings, Founder of Green Writers Press
  • A discussion of J. Howard Flower, 19th century Hartland poet and author of "The Free Soul: A Pioneer of Personal Liberation and Eternal Youth, Printed in Our Corner of the Universe at Erratic Intervals of Eternity”
  • A reading by local poet Rob Foote
  • Poetry selections of favorite poems by: Robert Frost, Leland Kinsey, Edna St. Vincent Millay, William Carlos Williams; and Chard deNiord
  • Light refreshments
  • And more!

Everyone who attends will go home with a poem in their pocket!
