100 Thousand Poets for Change (Bennington, Vermont)

  • Unitarian Univeralist Meeting House 108 School Street Bennington, VT, 05201 United States (map)

Since 2011, 100 Thousand Poets for Change has been an annual world-wide happening made up of readings, concerts, exhibitions and other artistic events all over the globe on a designated day.

The first order of change is for poets, writers, musicians, artists, activists to get together to create and perform, educate and demonstrate, simultaneously, with other communities around the world. This will change how we see our local community and the global community.

Our Bennington all-genre open mic means that poets, musicians, storytellers, actors, magicians, and artists of any persuasion are welcome to sign up to do their thing in the spirit of peace, justice and a more sustainable world.

The Particulars: 5-minute time limit; we’re all acoustic, no plug-ins: there will be a microphone and sound system; also an upright piano will be provided). Doors open 7:00 pm for sign-up; performances begin at 7:30 pm. Plenty of free parking on the street and in the municipal lot across the street.
