Orchard Pageant

On October 28th and 29th, a large-scale pageant will unfurl across the fields of Green Mountain Orchards, a hundred-year-old family farm in Putney, VT. Movement, large-scale puppetry, poetry and music will converge to explore the themes and small beauties surrounding this storied orchard.

The pageant is an investigation of place. It explores the inter-generational transitions that family farms face, the people new and migrant and old and older who have animated Putney over the years, and the enduring commitment to live alongside the land.
